Why Do You Have People
the neighbors thought the Catz were crazy in the head
Why would you want people at the foot of your bed?
So we can keep our eyes on them said her husband Ted.
She herself had wanted to leave them out in the shed.
They freeze in the winter, argued her husband who was soft.
He liked humans more than she did, she explained to Roft.
They are good for a laugh, you should see them run away.
But we drag them back and shake them, and begin a new play.
Did you ever taste one? asked Roft, concerned about her mind.
Not really, she admitted, for it would not seem utterly kind.
They are disgusting, so don’t even try it he warned her totally.
She stared at them longingly during her afternoon kibble tea.
