Why Do We Lie
We get in trouble, run from an issue
And in the end we lie
We lie not because we feel like it
We lie to avoid wounds
Avoid problems
Avoid heartbreak
We lie, complaining why did it have to reach this far?
We stay quiet, and silent, running from accused guilt
For everything is a reason
And for a reason we do it
But not any reason
Can be “good enough”
To do it
Because by lying we pretend to be someone else
We do stuff that are not us
That lying turns into a person
With no standards
No goals
You did it, even if you didn’t mean to
But sometimes you’re not just strong enough to admit it
