Why Do Planners For the Future
Why do planners for the future,
Stubbornly cling to outdated concepts,
When the future is on our doorstep,
And the answers are on the desk in front of them.
Is it too big a leap for them to envisage?
What I have been saying for years,
That A whole village could be housed in one building,
Designed with you and me in mind,
So, nature can heal and rivers flow again.
Without the need for pipes and wires underground.
Yet they continue with cheap and nasty,
Ever smaller spaces,
On land where trees and birds once dwelt,
Building more roads,
Which flying cars will never use.
Why do planners for the future,
Cement their plans in concrete?
For the next forty, fifty, even a hundred years,
When the very technology in their hands,
Is Upgraded every month.
Why do planners for the future,
Only build relationships with those who quote
In hundreds of millions or Billions?
When there are examples everywhere,
Of what can be achieved with resources obtained for free,
Or using materials of the future for half the cost.
Why do planners for the future,
Continue planning for,
One in one hundred-year climatic events?
When two such events,
Have happened in the last decade.
Does any of this make any more sense to you,
Than it does to me.
