Why Do I Self Express
My written words have a soul of their own.
They are not the same as the words I speak, or the words I am careful to not speak.
Writing speaks to others the way no other voice can,
Except maybe the voice of music or dance or art or sheer unadulterated joy.
My self-expression will be what my children and grandchildren clamor for after I am gone.
My great-great-great-great grands might want to know something about this
Woman who preceded them, to check commonality, shared spirit, my ideals.
I express myself for them, but mostly for me.
To not express myself would be a lie.
I have to live my truth.
This is why.
