Why Do I Need You, Lord
I need you for the purpose that you gave
to all your children so that we might find
great joy in life from birth until the grave.
I need your aid as does all humankind!
My life is good; so much you’ve gifted me.
Yet knowing that when things go wrong, you care
is such a blessing, and a family
you’ve given me! I know they will be there
no matter what. When there’s pain or sorrow
for them or me, I need to call on you.
Just to feel great peace about tomorrow
is one more thing that I need from you too!
Why do I need you, Lord? I think it’s clear.
Without you, I’d have no need to be here!
