Why Are You Here At Poetry Soup

Alone with the innate ability to accomplish my passion for writing...
months came and left,
years flew abroad,
no one listened, no one cared,
I was just me and my pen,
drifting slowly across the lined pages of my journal...
I was inspired by happiness and aroused by divine influence...
A discovery was made,
allowing my expressions to be revealed.
After the summer, I was searching...
for outlets and a fellowship of my dreams coming true.
I found it, I read it, I loved it.
Poetry Soup soared beyond my expectations,
there I was, just a baby
fascinated about this whole new world
of rhyme, free verse and haibuns,
and many more forms that I adore.
I had been longing tirelessly,
searching for a dim lit room,
with acceptance and realizations
of my true nature.
Things I have grown to love about myself,
manifestations of the highest degree,
and lost reflections had been found.
I would have never guessed I could
find more encouragement from the poet's
I have met through out the world.
I was greeted so nicely,
I was no longer embarrassed to express
my most intimate sensitivities
Above the sun,
and below the moon,
what a treasure I have found...
