Who Will Cry
Who will cry for the dead cowboys
Buried along the trail
Who will cry for the dead cowboys
The ones who try and fail
Some have died in brash adventure
An' some in happenstance
But die they did and dead they lie
An' never had a chance
Mark it down as young man's folly
Or as romantic tales
But a wooden cross on the Plains
Must mark a man who fails
But more than that, ah, yes much more
It marks a man who tried
And the wooden cross on his grave
Records that one man cried
Who will cry for the young cowboys
Graves scattered to and fro
Perhaps no one will cry at all
They'd prob'ly have it so
