Who Really Knows
Down at the stream there’s
a frog who knows,
where the water flows,
But he cannot know,
for he’s no way to show
Up on the mountain
there’s a goat who knows,
where her path goes,
But she cannot know,
for she’s got many foes
Out on the sea there’s
a bird who knows,
where all the boats blow,
but he cannot know,
for he does not row
In the forest there’s
a tree who knows
just how tall it grows,
but it cannot know,
for trees cannot crow
Somewhere there’s a
god who knows
all these seeds I sow,
but they cannot know,
For I’m the devil you know
