Who Needs the Sunrise
~
A crescent moon was smiling
as I drove along my way
Awaiting on the sunrise
to illuminate my day
It seemed so very happy
in the early morning night
Yet still I sought that orange glow
to make the day seem right
It hung above me grinning
so much joy was shining down
When very soon I noticed
I no longer wore a frown
It’s then that I decided
after just a little while
I thought, who needs the sunrise
my day started with a smile
