Who Knew-Peru

There once was a flawed broad named Maude who wished to spend Christmas abroad she ate Christmas dinner with penniless sinners for that was all Maude could afford. Well ole Maude brought them black tea from China and chocolate cakes from a diner they ate guinea pig and many a fig while Maude poured them wine from Carolina. Yes you've guessed it, I see that you knew in Peru they eat Guinea Pigs in stew they wear colorful hats and watch out for black bats Maude's dinner will be in Cusco, Peru Date:12/15/12

rereading this one and I realized that you must have a different accent back there in the east coast. Rhyming Maude with afford and China with diner. I can actually imagine it by thinking of some famous movies with actors from the east coast!

Light and funny. I like it. I wish you MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. I am glad I found this site. I used to post my poems on 8hop.com, which one fine morning just disappeared - I had about 150 poems there. Well, I am glad to have met you all.

I enjoyed the way you did these as limericks, Debs. You did a good job with your meter and it is interesting how you described a Xmas other than from the US. Congrats on the winners' list.

I love this, Debbie! You had me laughing from the first line. "A flawed broad named Maude" - too hilarious! I also wanted to let you know that I received your book in the mail today, and your poems are fabulous!! (I already knew they would be, based on your work I've seen on here.) The artwork in the book is also amazing. Thank you so much for sending it :)
