Who Is So Wise As Never To Do Such

Who Is So Wise As Never To Do Such Blind drunk, bereft of any semblance of leadership my mind grows cold and dark skies call out. A poet has heart and soul even if no readership enjoys drinking fine wine or dark ale too stout. What grows and spills ink onto blank page inspiration, communing with her as she mused If only, we all could learn from the wisest sage that if we dare open up- we will be abused. Blind drunk, bereft of any semblance of leadership my mind grows cold and dark skies call out. A poet has heart and soul even if no readership enjoys drinking fine wine or dark ale too stout. Perhaps wise, not to feel or drink too damn much yet who is so wise as never to do such? Robert J. Lindley, 9-26-2016 Note- Couldn't sleep, decided to bang one out .... First time, I've drank any alcoholic beverage in over a year now.

Youthful follies and remembered regrets. Yes, to stay true to poetry a true poet must open up.... Sad that so many think that is taboo. Opening up includes the bad as well as the good.. For truth is the soul and heart of poetry. This was deemed to be crap when entered in a contest here. I can only guess why it was deemed to be so... Perhaps real life experiences are taboo.

Reminds me of a John Keats poem- Women, Wine, and Snuff... His beloved Trinity... Well written Robert /|\

Excellent write! To err is human--and that we are when at our best. Anything else is a lie.

It is easier on the eyes to paint with earth tones as bright colors tend to excite the pulse. Love your sonnet, Robert.
