White On White
The wails and shrieks
of a banshee
warns of death;
hidden amidst the chaos
within a whiteout blizzard.
Bare skeleton trees
rattle their bones;
as Winter's wrath
shakes and pounds them
with fists of snow.
Blue skies get obscured in
a flurry of confetti;
white on white.
And temperatures drop;
as a ravenous cold
gnashes its teeth,
snarling like a rabid dog;
nipping and biting,
at any exposed skin.
