Whispers From God
When I come to the river I hear him
whispering softly to me,
“Sit and just listen to the water
and leave all the hard stuff to me.
Rest in the shade of the oak tree
and listen to the words that I say.
I’ll tell you what is important
here by the river today.”
So I rest in the shade of the oak tree
and I sit there most of the day
but before it is time to go back home
I bow down my head and I pray,
Father I thank you for my faith,
my family, my friends and my home
but mostly I thank you for your love
and the whispers you send from above.
