Whisper

If only... his arms would envelop me The way they once did, I could begin to live again. If only... He would kiss me with the passion he once shared with me, I could begin to feel again. If only... He could hear me instead of shutting me out, his is the name I’d whisper. But... With strong and caring arms Someone Else has held me up and lit the world for me. And Someone Else has breathed new life into my very soul with his kiss. And with his eyes, Someone Else has rekindled the flame within me. And but for Someone Else, my Spirit loves again. For it is that Someone Else who so carefully listens and hears... The whisper of his name.

This is wonderful, Louise, and something I can relate to ... I have been lucky enough to find TWO soul-mates in this life, (while many never find one), and while I lost them both through foolishness and the entertainment of my demons, I am SO blessed to have loved on such a deep level - I am truly a lucky man for what has been. Superb write, and adding to my favs. I have only been writing since December 2016, so I love to see new styles and folks come to the soup - blessings! Consider me friend!

This was my first attempt at poetry many years ago when I was in college . However it was heartfelt and very personal .
