Where's That Farthest Place
This excessive weight of the past
overwhelms me more than a swift
and impetuous river that never reaches
the remote sea I spot from miles;
I wait in such a dire disappointment
and sobbing, I breathe silence,
holding off the tears that want
to flow freely, liberating themselves
from the captured soul in defiance
which has nothing to denounce!
Where's that farthest place
on which one can cry while a nightingale slowly
approaches and consoles him with his melody?
Where's that hand gently caressing
someone without hope to offer him its tenderness?
I choose to wait while losing myself in the serenity
of an evening sparking with brilliance...
displaying colors that amaze!
If there were secrets to be revealed,
mine would be the most mysterious...
would I have the courage to free them?
Eternal God, come down this blood-stained earth
and keep me some company until brightness lasts;
nobody will find me, nobody will ask me if aloneness hurts,
if shadows will hide the celestial glory of the magnificent skies;
if fear will descend upon me and dread
will be visible on the face not willing to take elm,
but condemning the ongoing war that causes death!
Where's that farthest place
in which the aroma of jasmine
intensifies the true essence of life?
I refuse to wait uselessly but I'll haste
for new adventures awaiting somewhere;
I'll take the longest and lesser-known path that leads
to a frontier without any borders,
I'll go searching for hallowed peace,
for bright horizons that are as glorious as dreams!
