Where Were You, Heartless Darling
Where were you, heartless darling...
when my days were lonely and dark?
I searched everywhere and anywhere hoping
to find you sitting on a bench chatting with Mark;
he also looked for the love he lost yesterday,
sadly his uncaring sweetheart sent him away.
One hug would be enough to feel wanted again,
one kiss will melt the loneliness
that weighed me down and threw me off reason;
can I count on new happiness?
Where were you, heartless darling
when my pillow was cold and your breath
didn't warm it up, not even moonlight was shining
brightly enough to offer comfort with some depth.
Why would I smile with a pretense,
while others laugh, kiss and dance?
I didn't cause you pain so you could hate me;
you're to blame every time you forsake me.
Where were you, heartless darling shamelessly unkind...
when my need grew and nothing could end my blues?
Did you feel what I felt and refused to whisper lies?
Do you regret what you lost and are unable to find?
