Where We Did 23 Nuclear Tests
Where to go on holiday? I wondered about it right away.
Got on a plane and headed for Bikini Atoll, which was cheap.
Ran onto a beach when I got there; a wonderful day.
Within an hour I’d grown a tail, and could only peep.
I had evolved into a nuclear fall-out weird kind of freak.
I did not realize it until I turned to my man and tried to speak.
Saw that he had grown an extras arm and his eyes were weak.
As a matter of fact, three of them had started to leak.
Why did we think we could come here after the USA ruined it?
Operation Crossroads had messed it up, and not just a bit.
I began jumping up and down, and bounced way up high.
My large squirrel tail hit my man in his eye.
The soil and water are contaminated up to the max.
We decided never to come back, wished we’d had the facts.
But the travel agent was not honest with us.
The hotel gave us our money back, but there was a big fuss.
