Do not come looking for me in small corners of our house I am not there The vast space we occupied where laughter lived I left behind The still place in our bed once radiating love I sense its cold Photoless frames, shattered glass a myriad memories I will forget Do not try to find me in the yard or in the snow of blossom I once loved Forget you ever knew the wrinkles around my mouth and eyes I crumble If you aim to memorize my face know it will fade in time I lost you In any place you find me drifting remember in your heart I find you *** May 28, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

Thank you very much Richard. It has some of that picture I used I hope? At least that is what I hoped to achieve.

Such a sad poem, so empty and lonely but...but...so damn well written. Your style and execution in this piece are incredible my friend. You pull emotions from the deepest part of us and lay them face up for us to see and dwell in. You are one of the best on this site. I agree with everything that is said below.

Very enthralling is the structure of the poem. Once again in an effort to write from your heart, you have given us something universally applicable.much respect Darren.

Miraj, thank you, I spent a good deal of time finding the right structure for what I wanted to say :)

I've been trying to decide if it's about death, loss, or regret (if not all three). It speaks highly of you that with such straight forward clarity you can still evoke such a layered response. The last stanza is chilling. Need my brain to jump into gear so I can make a useful comment, sorry for being so inarticulate. I'll let you be in charge of that from now on

You are the first to notice that it is not necessarily about death, and right you are. I hoped to keep it ambivalent, even though ideed the words seem to give clarity.

Hello Darren. Top of The Afternoon to you. I love this because it reminds me of my grandmother's house and attic too. A true place and home where love and laughter was always present. Although your words have sadness I also see the light and glorious meaning that memories and moments of life are present and living within the heart and soul. I found this truly beautiful in every way Darren. Honestly. Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon.

Thank you my friend. And yes, it does have that feel to it, I hoped I was able to bring that to the reader. Thank you for telling I succeeded :)

Wow. I am so sorry. It looked like the character validation box wasn't working, and every time I retried I reiterated the same message. I have been justly accused of redundancy, but this is ridiculous, and I can't erase. With apologies. Gerald

Hahaha, it is no problem at all, now i could practice with the new feature: delete redundant or rude comments. I removed all the doubles and triples and it is not bad at all. Thank you :)

Come looking for us in large centers of our home, where only we most fully yet become. Thx for visiting my small corner, and for your comment. I enjoyed my visit here, even though you here eloquently speak of no longer being home.

Thank you Maria, also for the invisible sevens :) But I do have to say to you what I said to Victor. This is the sort of poetry I like to write. It doesn't necessarily mean I am depressed, or playing with thoughts of death...
