When Will My Desert Bloom
When will my desert bloom again?
the forlorn hills beneath the warm
sun velvet with verdant green;
the drought grow saturate with storm.
Ah, tempests! I would welcome thee!
whose barren, introspective calm
absorbs the silent, stagnant air,
soul burnt without a hint of balm.
When will my desert bloom again
with myrtle and love's fragrant rose?
when will love's latter rain appear,
the dry heart hidden springs disclose?
