For Dilly Dally's Space Between Stars Poetry Contest

__#8 on top 100 poems as of Dec 5___________________________________________

Five light years is the average distance that separates any two stars - five light years of hydrogen, helium and dust. It is a l o n g space of seeming emptiness. You and I are two stars too. Now separated, is there only nothingness between us? I will show you there is not. I will shine my light toward you, scattering it through the dust of your indifference. One day you will know my absolute resolution. Slowly I will approach, driven by mad devotion and drawing you ever nearer to me. At last, we will collide, becoming one. Everything dividing us will vanish, and with a love so massive, rare, and hot, we will be as unique as blue stragglers, sparkling night's sky with our passion.

Yes, the metaphor with stars and lovers usually seems to work quite well, and your take on it was a pleasant read. Thank you.

Night falls and we admire the stars. So little space in between, but in reality, so far from each other.

You've beautifully a celestial scene which choreographs the ignition of love in two hearts which finally become one ~ glowing with the pure brilliance of affection and passion! I could imagine those stars colliding and shining brighter than ever ~ absolutely stunning. There's magic and ecstasy in every word you've knitted here! Best wishes for the contest, sending you light always. A FAVE :)

Very passionate! I feel it deeply. Two stars colliding and becoming one to shine with double brilliance. The space between two stars is no more there. Love is the gravitational pull bringing them together . Great entry for the contest. All the best dear Andrea.

Atoms exist between the stars, and every living thing, however near or far. Good luck in the contest Andrea.

Ah sweet andrea, absolutely love what youv done here for the prompt! So evocative and touching, and thats what exactly we do when we stargaze, we think and reminisce and question so much more unspoken and unheard. I just posted mine for the contest too and its a bit similar how we both interpreted but also very different. This , i truly enjoyed reading and feelt strongly! Best wishes, sending you light always
