When the Darkness Falls
When in public she is strong.
Independent and tall
In all ways, she is happy
Until the darkness falls
When the stars are out
And heads rest gently upon pillows
The tears star to fall
Hidden like a secret not mentioned
And only seen only by her heart
The pillow catches it all
No one would have ever guessed
Not even her closest of friends
That when the sun rises
She stands straight and tall
Putting away that secret she hides
She stands independent, strong and,
As happy as any one could ever be
Again, until the darkness falls
When the stars are out, and heads are resting gently upon pillows
The tears start to fall
Hidden and seen only by her own heart
The pillow catches it all
No one knows what she hides inside
And no one but herself keeps the secret in her heart
And on the pillow that catches it all
When the darkness falls
