When the Beach Is So Lonely and the Waves So Cold
When The Beach Is So Lonely And The Waves So Cold
composed with ( Tribute Given To Bob Seger And His Music,
especially so his beautiful song- "Against The Wind" )
And
His song verse, from magnificent song "Against The Wind"
"I wish I didn't know now, what I didnt know then."
When The Beach Is So Lonely And The Waves So Cold
I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then*
as both she and this hateful world left me old and cold
too oft a stranger to this earth and brotherhood of men
so lost and defiant because of the lies she told.
I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then*
a broken prisoner in this sad and lonely abode
wondering if life and pain is all there ever has been
and why I once believed all those lies I was told!
I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then*
that my sorrows, my aches were imaginary cries
just dream shadows flying in this dark and cavernous den
and I could look at the heavens and not see her blue eyes!
I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then*
A lost soul weeping in this sad world of fallen men!
R.J. Lindley, June 17th, 1980
Sonnet, ( So Sad And Lonely Each Morn When The Rooster Crows )
Old Note: Deleted...
New Note:
When composing Seger was stumped at one point. Needed a verse
His great friend Glen Frye, offered to help and instantly
gave him what he Seger called the greatest verse in the entire song,
*I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then*
credit given to both Bob Seger And Glen Frye for that verse which
later became a verse that means so very much to me....
