When Summer Is Gone
When Summer is gone, Fall enters the scene,
Bringing with it lively, lovely hues of life -
Garish garnet gives golden leaves a stiff competition;
Brilliant brown leaves think twice before falling;
Yellow orange shades create a dappled canopy,
And when you walk under this veil of shadows,
You are blessed with a gentle shower of leaves.
No more hot sun to burn you, no more drenched in sweat,
A gentle breeze welcomes the weary,
Seasons change and with it changes life -
The Summer of youth gives way to Autumnal middle age,
When strength fails slowly hinting at Winter.
