When Love Was Innocent

When love was innocent If he would keep one seat for me beside, Glad inside I would try my best to hide, Would pray teacher gave difficult sum to him, So that he turned to me in the extreme, Midday recess for snacks in canteen, If he was to pay, eating umpteen, Fight over seats in the school bus, No day was done without creating a fuss, For one glimpse of my soulmate, I would walk for hours near the gate, Fresh are memories of the schooldays spent, Gone are the times when love was innocent ! Innocence of younger days at school when learning was the future. I remember quite well the first girl I had a crush on. She was the teacher, very pretty and so nice! AHHHH, to be that innocent again.. Enjoyed your poem my friend.
