When I Was Young
There was a time in my life when I thought I knew it all.
I was so sure that there was nothing more for me to learn.
I was bound to land on my feet and I would rarely fall.
I knew better than to cross a bridge, and then let it burn.
As a kid, everything would come so easily to me.
School was just a place I would go to be with my friends.
I was never worried about what my future might be.
I knew that whatever I chose, I’d be happy in the end.
Now that I’m older, I realize that there’s much more to life,
And I’m able to see the world through much clearer eyes.
Someday, I know that I will make a wonderful wife,
But for now, fifth grade is over, and it’s on to Junior High.
