When I Was a Lad

I remember back to when I was a lad Standing next to a WW2 vet, my dad We proudly belted out, 'O, Say can you see' At every ball game, what a great time we had Today I'm the only one left who still sings Most fans on their phones or other things Down on the field all the players take a knee Brings a tear to my eye -- a tear that stings Will life ever return to the way that it was I doubt it greatly, mostly because What's gone is gone; it ain't comin' back The loss is quite real, it's America's

I am standing right along side you, Gershon, hand over heart, singing loudly. Our generation still has much pride and patriotism. John

You and I for starters, John: We take back our country! Have a nice weekend, and thank you for your continuing support. Peace through Strength, Gershon

A great write, Gershon! Alas, your last verse is so true. I fear life in the America I grew up with will never be the same. If Biden and his radical side kick push their socialist agenda, America will be in for deep and serious problems. We need to pray that will not happen - my sermon for today - ha!

Thanks for the sermon, Bob... I'm kind of optimistic that America will reject socialism: Illinois voters rejected the progressive tax; California voters rejected Affirmative Action. Those are two very 'blue states.' Americans don't want to 'sing the blues' all their lives. And just think: Ruth Badar Ginsburg has been replaced on the Court. That's a huge step in the 'right' direction. Keep the faith, Gershon

It is sad. Even in my living room, me and the family would stand up, put our hands over our hearts as the anthem played. Was also proud to serve in the Navy. God bless America!

The antipathy toward the military is beyond me, Kim. Who do these far-left clowns think preserves their freedom to act like morons?! Oh, well. Silly me (for thinking). Have a wonderful Friday. :) gw
