When I First Knew

I woke up this morning with a strange feeling inside
Could this be real – this is something I may have to hide
I’ve waited for this day for so very long
I just hope through all of this we can be strong
How do I tell him, he has to know
It has to be soon before I start to show
I can’t wait to tell him, I’m so ready for the day
I’m a little nervous about what he will say
I want it to be perfect – the words I use
I want to serve him dinner with a pair of baby shoes
I’m so excited what do I do
It will be part of us – me and you
So many emotions – happy, but scared
We are not ready – but can you even be prepared
I can just hear them – those little feet
Watching them grow will be a treat
We can do this – there should be no fear
Just to see the little face and hold it near
The love I have is already so great
Having this wonderful gift is our fate
