When I Called For You
When I called for the cows
They all came home
The gate was closed
And they dare not roam
But you my love
No matter how loud I called
Deafness reigned upon your ears
No response at all
Your selfish fine tuned pathways
Served you oh so well
But this I know my love
When I called for the cows
They all came home
The gate was closed
And they dare not roam
I put you on a pedestal
I gave you oh so much
My heart my soul my body
And physical gifts and such
But you my love
No matter how loud I called
Deafness reigned upon your ears
No response at all
I thought that now
That you are gone
I could find some resolution my love
But this I know my love
When I called for the cows
They all came home
The gate was closed
And they dare not roam
I stare at the box upon the shelf
Loaded with dark ashes
Once a dipiction of yourself
No longer can I call you
Nore you turn a deaf ear
But this I know my love
When I called for the cows
They all came home
The gate was closed
And they dare not roam.
