When I Am Inside Of You, How Do I Feel
When I am inside of you—what do I feel
The hush of stars pressed close and still?
Do rivers stir beneath your skin,
And whisper songs I hold within?
Does moonlight enter through your chest,
And braid your breath with aching rest?
Do trembling trees with scented air
Fall quiet in your midnight care?
Do all the roses bloom too soon,
And blush beneath a hidden moon?
Do pulses rise like summer rain,
Soft echoes laced with longing's pain?
Or is it silence, calm and wide,
Where even dreams forget to hide—
And all the world one deep red heart,
Of two hearts beating without sound.
