When Heart and Mind Collide

A battlefield, silent, yet a roaring war, where heart and mind collide and then implore. Logic's sharp edge, a calculated strike, against emotion's surge in fading, fragile light. The mind, a fortress, built of reasoned stone, protecting walls where feelings are unknown. The heart, a tempest, wild and unrestrained, a tidal wave of longing, forever uncontained. "Be sensible," the mind, a cold command, while whispers of desire, the heart's soft hand. A tangled web of "shoulds" and "wants" entwined, a constant tug of war where peace is hard to find. The weight of consequence, the mind's grim, steady gaze, against the reckless leap through love's impulsive haze. A fractured mirror reflecting fractured selves, where compromise is buried on forgotten shelves. The aching silence when neither side gives way, a frozen stalemate where shadows hold their sway. A desperate plea for harmony's sweet sound, to bridge the chasm where fractured truths are found. To find the balance on a trembling, fragile line, where heart and mind can finally intertwine. To forge a truce in the battle's weary wake, and let a gentler wisdom for choices we make. ©bfa032725
