What Would You Give For a Chance

What Would You Give for a Chance?
It seems unfair that girls must wait for each first kiss to have respect, Boys fear girl's slap, fears overlap! They drive most teens insane! A child needs nap, a tree stores sap, and some might call that gain, Though Maples can't feel winter's cut, aren't parent's needs more circumspect? A first job too can bring one tears (not joy) that few will celebrate. The fear of loss, an angry boss, won't make you feel at home. If hit by flack who's got your back? Who's there to say, "Shalom!" Work overtime without redress, but woe to fool that shows up late! To be transparent doesn't mean pet futures have to disappear, Some doors can slide, truth find your side, in ways you can't predict, The higher road is truth God sowed; Is virtue all that strict? Worst penalties lie in deceit! In failure lies man's broken spear! Life's bounty always worth your best, its welcome harvest taps the store Of what you need, if you would feed, the hunger in your heart. Will life depress, if you digress, and choose to play a part? Has Grace the warmth to stem life's tide? What dream exists that offers more? Long Tooth April 27th of 2019
