What We'Ve Got

We might all like a break From the lives that we lead But that change may not be What we want or we need. For there’s comfort as well In the same old routine And we may not be thrilled With an alternate scene. We can plan, we can hope, We can wish, we can dream Yet the future may not Give us peaches and cream. There are times that it’s best To enjoy what we’ve got Since to know what comes next We most surely cannot.
