What Tomorrow Will Bring

I can’t predict what tomorrow will bring No one can tell what my future will hold Still I remain full of the joys of spring I intend to live until I’m quite old! No one can tell what my future will hold I’ll face my challenges straight on the head I intend to live until I’m quite old! The future foretells one day I’ll be dead I’ll face my challenges straight on the head When will my heart stop beating, I don’t know The future foretells one day I’ll be dead I’m content with life; I go with the flow When will my heart stop beating, I don’t know Still I remain full of the joys of spring I’m content with life; I go with the flow I can’t predict what tomorrow will bring What Will Tomorrow Bring Contest Contest Sponsored by Eve Roper Inspired by the song Que Sera Sera sung by Doris Day Each line checked with how many syllables 10 per line 06-27-17

Thanks Jean I really love writing this form and the song reminds me of my childhood as my mother used to sing it... but she was no Doris Day lol:-) hugs Jan xx

I'm sure you'll live to a hundred and eleventy-fourteen, Jan. When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother what will I be? Will I be pretty, will I be rich? Here's what she said to me- "Stop dressing up as Doris Day and get to your room!". Viv x

Jan, your theme, the way you took this, was somewhat my way of thinking. This is why we are such great friends. We see so many things the same way. GREAT pantoum!

Indeed no one can tell what the future will bring. We know that it ends at some point. But what wil be will be.

Que sera sera, Jan. Whatever will be, will be. A great mantra for life. Forget the trivial details and enjoy life for what blessings we've been given.

I agree Lin, it may be a strange thing to say Bob's cancer has actually brought me a lot of enlightenment in my life and has helped me cope with the trauma of many life challenges in the last 3 years and starting to write poetry has been the best thing to come out of his cancer surgery:-) hugs jan xx

I love the Doris Day song my mum used to sing it when I was little and I used it as inspiration for the poem:-) I try and deal with things in my life with humour ... 2 days before my dad died I wrote 11 poems 8 of them were funny so I had something fun to post while I was going through a difficult period of my life:-) hugs Jan xx
