He seems to be losing some supporters, but he does have a cult following of angry losers and white supremacists who will support him even if it is against their own self interest. One of his crazy supporters recently told me the country is full and we don't have room for any more immigrants. Based on our conversation, he was referring to non-white immigrants. Hatred unleashed. Thanks Jan. Somehow it just occurred to me to use the letters corresponding to ultimate fighting championship. Seems to me like a throw back to ancient times where fighting was celebrated/promoted by some. I'm wondering why the appeal? Unfortunately, a lot of men seem to be missing a sense of purpose. We haven't done a great job as a society helping a lot of people fit in in some productive way that will improve life for all of us. Hope you are well and sending smiles!!!

Thanks Tom...it's interesting that the Knicks players support each other with some humility. It makes a total contrast with the politicians currently in authority. I was watching an interview of Jalen Brunson who was the NBA Finals MVP, and I it was apparent that he is not a selfish person. When they won, the first thing he did was to walk over to the opposing coach and praise the opposing team. He also talked about acting with rationality and not letting his temper get the best of him. He reminded me of how people can behave with decency. You are also a model for me. Take care and sending smiles!!

Lin, your assessment of what we have seems totally accurate. There's a huge grab for money and power, and this appeal to a certain group just does seem like a waste of money. What does make people feel good includes having friends and taking time for our families and needs. The oligarchs have no idea of what they're missing in life and will try to cover it up by getting a bigger yacht, bunker, or set of estates all around the globe. They'd be much happier as you point out if they focused more on helping others. "Make the world great again!!!" Sending smiles!!

D.T. has an instinctual desire to appeal to his base of males who think they have gotten a raw deal. We'll certainly see how this all plays out in the next election (if we ever get there)! Well, it certainly cost a lot to ramp up the security for him. It did tend to kill the good mood in NY. We can't make this up. In the meantime, and with all the distraction, a huge amount of money keeps flowing upward. There's a lot to worry about, and the Knicks seemed to have filled some longing for winning that many people have. A lot of people seem to need something to believe in, and sports tends to help a lot for many of us. Sending smiles!!

Thanks for the comment Keith. I often wonder why certain men are attracted to UFC. Do the intimate positions the fighters display represent some kind of strange sexual attraction? The sport puts a new wrinkle on the rainbow. Surprising how many men seem drawn to it. Freud would have a lot to say on this subject.
