What Is Your Sign
Our eyes met, and I knew he was too good for me
But I glanced back, and he was still looking
The beach had never looked so pretty
My girlfriend hissed “He is looking”
As if I did not know this already
Would he come over?
Ask about my sign?
I despised it when guys did that.
It’s like they have nothing else going.
I saw his shadow on the sand.
Knew it was him before he opened his mouth.
“What’s your sign?” he asked.
From him it sounded exactly right.
“Gemini,” I told him. “Yours?”
“Libra,” He admitted. “Can I sit?”
We were together all summer.
A summer of giggles, secrets and whispers.
Summer love had never felt so exactly right.
