What has happened to us all, mankind and here in the US Where it seems that life is all about money, millionaires and billionaires Multi billionaires? who can they be and what have they become Who needs a billion — to play with false space ships and childish dreams What has happened to us where are the funds for the health of children The safety of our lands and parks, the joy and love of wildlife all ignored Why has money taken over the land, as nature sends out diseases And hundreds die, she is angry our Mother at our cold narcissism As Borderlines take over our politicians doing nothing for our lives Making sure they have been seen in the internet and false news Creating religion based on funds given to not the poor or needy Not to the sick or science to help the sick but to ministerial tv stars To CEOs the new gods of America where money rains like winter storms And children play computer games forgetting their pets and civil duties While the reality of Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Islam beliefs That talk of kindness and the living life of the world are put to the side For gold and computer chips and churches rich and cold What has happened to us to separate us from life that once was bold The living life of all of us creatures large and small What has happened to us all?
