So many things in our technology confuse me – my phone particularly! Worst of all, I cannot text properly. Although I’m able to type speedily, I’m having the greatest difficulty with my cell phone’s keyboard, which is tiny! My nails are longer now, so awkwardly I’m clicking on wrong letters and constantly messing myself up; an eternity just to send one message it can seem to be. But what gobsmacks and most bamboozles me is why my two children cannot seem to see they would make my life so nice and easy if they’d just answer when I ring them. Gee! Can’t they pick up and set my fingers free? Nov. 5, 2018 for Caren Krutsinger's 'What Gobsmacks, Bamboozles and Confuses Me' Poetry Contest

Hi Andrea, technology can be a blessing, but with me, technology can be a curse. I don't even have a mobile phone. God knows the disaster I could cause with one. I feel and understand the frustration. Hope this write sings for you in the contest. have a wonderful Sunday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Oh dear Andrea! You have touched the very harsh reality we are living now! Technology, "a blessing in disguise"! A wonderful write and a great pleasure to read. Rejoice in the blessings of technology! Best wishes.

Terrific poem, Andrea... and I feel your frustration! (Also love the cartoon about "that's why they are called cell phones"- hahahaha!)

Wow, nicely done, Andrea, gave me a little laugh this morning. So true about the younger generation, they never want to talk anymore. Best of luck. John

So hard to write on those tiny keyboards..and if you have apple Iphone..it even has its own mind and keeps replacing your words with its own that you never intended. Text is the way to go these days. Your poem is very real life..well done, Andrea.

I did not know the name for the place where you click on the letters . It's not exactly a keyboard but that is another reason I hate it . It does not recognize many words and puts wrong words. I do not know how the kids are learning to do it all so well

Kids make it look so easy, holding phone in one hand and texting at the speed of light. You're not alone Andrea. Good luck. Tom.

That was funny and so very true Andrea. They won't answer a ringing phone but if you texted them immediately following the call...they answer. What is up with that? : ) Best of luck in the contest.
