What Faith Implies

You want to believe in God
but feel befuddled and awed.
And yet, you oft pray to Him
whenever prospects look grim.
Regardless of what you're told,
faith is often bought and sold.
And when you think you can't win,
it's difficult not to sin.
Once you are exposed to hate,
obstacles accumulate.
And lies manipulate you
until the truth trickles through.
When happiness seems fleeting,
your beliefs take a beating.
And you start to question why
children should suffer and die.
There is no explaining faith,
no more than demonic wraith.
But once entrenched in your heart,
naught can force it to depart.
Upon breathing their last breath,
eternal souls don't fear death.
For souls shed their mortal guise;
at least; that's what faith implies.
