The pictures of yesterday tell a truth we've forgotten, with our every instant recorded and filtered, rehearsed and scripted. Our parent's snapshots, though some black and white, imperfect and tattered from so many witnesses, are frozen moments in time. We will never be as honest again.

Crystal Your great poetry contrasts the authenticity of previous times caught in images with the planned and frequently artificial character of modern photography, implying that these true moments contain a truth that contemporary life obscures. Your poetry also delves into topics of memory, nostalgia, and the difference between previous and modern methods of chronicling life. It emphasizes the simplicity and rawness of vintage pictures, as opposed to today's digital shots, which are frequently edited and staged. Thank you for visiting and commenting on my page.

Nice bit of nostalgia. All my childhood photos were destroyed in a flood. Apparently, I didn't exist before twenty-one. It's a sore spot for me

Sad to say all my grandparents, aunts and uncles are dead, save a few on my mom's side. Maybe something will eventually pop up.

I know this is presumptuous of me but do you have extended family who might have photos of you and your family during the early days? Alot if the photos I have of my mom came from my aunt. I'm sure you've thought of this but jic!

Oh no! That's awful... that is a fear of mine, to lose those precious mementos and things with sentimental value. Most material things can be replaced and i don't hold them in regard. Just think, with today's technology at least those memories are relatively safe from natural disaster in digital form. I suppose everything has a positive side! Xoxo
