What a Stunning Earth Below
Imagine being a first-time astronaut
happily staring at the earth spinning
from outer space, it can be breath-taking;
in the blackness of the sky nothing is gaunt.
Think of God when He finally decided to take a rest:
the incredible images of the continents He gladly saw
with their awesome mountains and oceans in azure mist
as night sparkled with much splendor making angels bow.
What a stunning earth below amid pretty planets!
Stars have come to crown her with their gems;
not noticing that the lonely moon above has wept
by seeing an astonishing creation not windswept.
Look closer: the ribbons of blue, red and green
are the sparkling Northern and Southern lights
stretching across the five magnificent continents;
this scenery repeats itself even when not seen.
