Welcoming Spring
A breath of air bodes of sweet spring
And urges winter on its way.
A red breast robin on the wing
Is looking for a place to stay
To build a nest without delay.
The signs of spring are all around
Answering to nature's set alarms.
Snowbells are pushing from the ground,
While bees steal from a blossom's charms
In daffodil fields on vast bulb farms.
In spring the world is young again
With new life sprouting everywhere.
As winter leaves without fanfare.
We rush to meet spring in midair.
