Weeping Words
I am writing with weeping words
Weeping low, like the willow tree
Branches fallen hiding the birds
A veil of grief hides what I see
Murder is a death so haunting
Visions are clear as yesterday
Screaming memories are daunting
Engraved in the brain to this day
I followed my promise to be
Your voice, in the years to follow
I spoke for you while I did flee
The backlash was hard to swallow
But, in these weeping words I say
You will be with me, to the end
When I am asked about that day
I will speak of my special friend
