The past two days have been a fizzle,
The temp lies two degrees shy of freezing.
All day long I’ve seen winters drizzle,
that it isn’t sleet is somewhat pleasing.
Ice storms wreck havoc when they occur,
line poles and trees lie on the ground.
Temps so cold it causes words to slur,
and cracking trees are a common sound.
I think of those who must work outside,
and animals with no warm place to stay.
From feelings of guilt I endeavor to hide,
and labor through another boring day.
