We Will Reminisce

With a hand, held out toward my own He taught me that I wouldn’t be alone With a word, a loving gift from his heart He made me feel we wouldn’t need to part With a kiss, given with a tender embrace He reassured me that our love was full of grace With a promise, meant to be forever and always He inspired me to live as if this wasn’t just a phase With acceptance, a feeling that I was truly loved He helped me to believe that I was blessed from above With kindness, a sense of something beyond myself He showed me that compassion is alive within itself With hope, a knowledge that he would be there He escorted me through everything we did share With joy, an awareness that happiness was alive He stopped me from letting go before I thrive With a hug, sharing a familiar warmth with me He improved my heart’s ability to finally agree With love, sent on angel’s wings to bring us this He reminded me in old age we’d be able to reminisce
