We Pray
It came suddenly on a mild October day.
There wasn't time for the last words to say.
Best last words were written in the month of May.
O Lord, for your comfort and strength, we pray.
Bearly alive in a hospital room, she lay,
We felt so helpless, 2,000 miles away.
Within 3 days, the wind gave her wings,
with which she quickly flew far away.
O Lord, for your comfort and strength, we pray.
In a moment, like a cruel unannounced invasion
of darkness from parts unknown, the canopy
of my heart darkened and turned sadly grey.
O Lord, for your comfort and strength, we pray.
Death had struck, and now, on a blanket of ice, she lay.
O Lord, for your comfort and strength, we pray.
