We Have Free Will

Most people agree that we have free will,
therefore our destiny can’t be preordained.
And yet, Divine destiny's believed still,
linking likelihoods with the unexplained.
If we accept that destiny is real,
we're diminished to actors on a stage.
And it doesn't matter if we can feel
or that wisdom can be gleaned from old age.
Destiny can't predict how you’ll meet death,
what fate holds for you is a guess, no more.
If your life's not yours to live, why draw breath,
your choices count, or else, what's it all for?
Unless we’re suppressed or mentally ill,
we are not puppets, for we have free will.
