Most people agree that we have free will;
therefore, our destiny can't be preordained.
Yet, Divine destiny is believed, still;
linking likelihoods with the unexplained.
If we accept that destiny is real,
we're diminished to actors on a stage.
And it doesn't matter that we can feel;
or that wisdom can be gleaned from old age.
If destiny decides how you'll meet death,
what fate holds for you is a guess no more.
If your choices are not yours, why draw breath;
your choices count, or else, what's it all for?
Unless we're suppressed or mentally ill,
we're not merely puppets; we have free will.
