We Forget Solitude
In this world of noise and confusion,
The sound of solitude has been forgotten.
The world spins in an unrelenting pace,
And we are willing runners in its race.
In the bustle of commercial transaction,
We leave no quiet space for introspection.
Where is the hush of early morn,
The pause before the day is born?
Where is the lull of evening tides,
The moments where our thoughts abide?
We forget the sound of our own breath,
And the heartbeats that forstall our death.
In quiet whispers let our inner voices speak,
And lead us to the wisdom that we seek.
When again we find the sounds of solitude,
Our souls will sing with gratitude.
