We Don'T Sit At the Table Anymore
The aroma permeates throughout the house.
It's that time when we used to sit at the table.
The time we would talk to each other.
The time we would pass the potatoes and carrots.
The time Dad would carve the meat.
Mom would remind everyone of their manners,
And to keep elbows off the table.
It was the time we would laugh and reminisce.
Even the dog would hide under the table,
Hoping someone would drop anything.
Those were the days,
BUT
We don't sit at the table anymore!
