We Ask For Your Wisdom, Dear God
Dear God, we ask for Your wisdom* in our souls
To know You more and understand Your work in our Christian roles
Always teach us to give our best, midst carnality poles
By Your grace along Your set everlasting goals.
Dear God, we ask for Your wisdom in each believer’s mind
To seek You first and abide in Your will wherein we’re truly inclined
Always enable us to fulfill well the tasks that to us You’ve assigned
By Your plan which for everyone You exclusively designed.
Dear God, we ask for Your wisdom in our desire
To love You most and esteem Your worth we earnestly admire
Always help us to value the eternal with the efforts You require
By Your mercies that do not retire and expire.
*James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
