We Are All Kin
Why is this world in such a state?
Is it because there is so much hate?
Why can we not call each other mate?
Is that why we're in such a state?
Why can we not learn to love each other?
Is it because we cannot 'see' our brother?
Why can we not just look beneath the skin?
Is it, do you think, that we are all kin?
Why is it that we cannot, or are too blind to care
Is it that we're afraid of we might find there?
Why do you think our blood we can all share?
Is it because it's the same inside there?
OK different types will not match your brother,
But the color of your skin should not be a bother.
Be you black, white, olive or brown on the outside,
The RED blood coursing through cannot be denied.
Why is that each faith that we follow through our life,
Causes war, brings on famine pestilence and strife.
The billions of pounds, dollars, Yen or whatever,
Could keep the whole world in food and peace forever.
So I continue to ask, why? what? who? and when?
Can we ever live together as one people on earth?
I guess it comes down to what we think we are worth.
